Fauziya Johnson

The discourse of veganism, and mental health are defined as taboo, and therefore ushered under the carpet. Johnson chooses to ignore this societal expectation of lack of conversation around these topics. She explores these subjects through portraiture photography, expressive painting and autonomous drawing.

Johnson believes art should challenge people in subtle and surprising ways. By displaying her work in a contradictory manner, or ‘literal abstraction’, Johnson seeks to rouse and challenge the prejudices and stereotypes of audience.

Currently studying Fine and Applied Arts at Liverpool Hope University.
