Jade Harris

Jade Harris concentrates on wax as a medium in her art, involving casting objects. Her work comments on the negative space inside of objects, the space people cannot see and therefore don’t think about. Her aim is to capture this space inside of the casts and present it to people, for them to think about it. She experiments with the concept of found objects inside of the wax casts and the way it changes the concept of the wax sculptures. While also casting her own body, her work is aimed to express a figurative aesthetic. She is greatly inspired by Rachel Whitread and Urs Fischer.
